What Are Chemical Peels?
For the highest quality results from chemical peel treatments, Farella MD Spa and Wellness Center provides you with multiple choices. Your personalized facial treatment with chemical solutions (such as glycolic, salicylic, lactic, and trichloroacetic acids) will give you smoother, healthier skin. At our Mount Kisco, NY practice, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. John F. Farella offers chemical peel treatments that resolve skin abnormalities, like fine lines, wrinkles, scars, dry patches, hyperpigmentation problems, and more. Chemical peels work by removing dead or damaged skin cells by applying a special treatment on your skin, which causes the visible layer to peel off. When your skin heals and starts to repair and rejuvenate itself, you may see a clearer, smoother complexion. Schedule a consultation at your convenience to find out how a chemical peel can make your neck and face look luminous. Consultations and follow-up appointments are held at our White Plains, NY location, and all light and laser procedures and skin care treatments are performed at our Mount Kisco, NY practice.
How Does a Chemical Peel Work?
At your appointment at Farella MD Spa and Wellness Center, we will have you lying in a comfortable position to administer your peel. A team member will make sure the skin is cleaned before applying the personalized solution to your face and/or neck. We will massage the solution onto your face and let it work for an appropriate length of time, which will be determined in your chemical peel consultation. Finally, we will wash the peel off your face and put on a neutralizing agent. Patients are encouraged to bring sunscreen and/or a hat to wear outside after the peel to protect against UV exposure.
What Are the Benefits of Chemical Peels?
According to the intensity of your peel, you can expect an assortment of these perks from your session at Farella MD Spa and Wellness Center:
- Hydrated, improved skin texture
- Evened and neutral complexion
- Minimization of dynamic lines and age signs
- Minimization of pores and different skin imperfections
Farella MD Spa and Wellness Center Reviews
I got lipo 360 from Dr. Farella in May. My experience as great and I look fantastic! I chose to get surgery here because he is board certified, has several years of experience, has a certified Operating room in his practice, and because he is located in NY. His CRNA followed up with me the following day of surgery and it was reassuring to know that I was being followed by a medical team. Dr. Farella was the first doctor that told me I didn’t need a tummy tuck. He got my waist from 32 in down to 27 in. If you live in the CT,NY, NJ area and considering cosmetic surgery, I would highly reccomend Dr. Farella.

Chemical Peel FAQ
How much does a chemical peel cost?
During your consultation, Dr. Farella will go over your treatment plan and provide a personalized cost estimate based on the level of intensity you choose. The cost of a chemical peel can vary, and we accept multiple payment methods at Farella MD Spa and Wellness Center. We often have special offers on treatments like chemical peels, and you might also consider purchasing a package of sessions for ongoing skin care.
What level should I choose for my chemical peel?
The best level for your chemical peel depends on your unique skin concerns and cosmetic goals. During your consultation, Dr. Farella will help you choose a peel that suits your skin type, the depth of your concerns, and the amount of recovery time you can manage. For a first-time peel, it's often a good idea to start with a lighter option to see how your skin responds, and then adjust your treatment plan based on the results.
Will my face hurt after a chemical peel?
The level of discomfort you experience can vary depending on the strength of the peel. Lighter peels may cause a mild tingling, which can be managed with a handheld fan. Medium and deep peels target deeper issues and offer longer-lasting results, but they may involve more discomfort. Topical anesthetics or soothing ointments can help you stay comfortable, our team will provide post-peel skincare tips to support your healing and prolong your results.
